Is there anybody who doesn't remember from his childhood the mother's advices to keep the back straight, otherwise you will remain coconut? Well, if you've followed this advice and have improved posture, then you do not only look better, but also have increased the self-esteem.
According to an experiment, conducted at the Ohio State University from United States of America, self-image affects our posture and when we sit straight we feel better about ourselves. This gives us more confidence and helps us to have more success in life.
Individuals who participated in this experiment were asked to sit on a chair in front of the office keeping the back they wish, straight or bent backwards. After several hours, the participants were asked to list three characteristics that would associate them with their career. And finally, they completed a questionnaire on the self-evaluation about the professional future.
Researchers have found that the answers given by people, who have held straight back, betrayed more positivity and confidence in their own strengths. By comparison, the thoughts of those who have held hunched back have not done too great at the chapter professional future.
You probably also felt the difference between keeping your back straight or hunched. At least I deed felt that difference and since then I use to keep it straight. To help myself with this issue I made a note where is written "keep your back straight", and put it to my desktop so if I forget to do it, I always have a reminder.
In conclusion I can only advice you to keep your back straight and the head up because it is a small but important step in your personal development with significant benefits for your emotional nature.
